I began (and ended) the pieces with about 12 picks of plainweave – 2 for hemstitching.

The pattern yarn for both pieces was 20/2 silk for the pattern weft and the same treadling and colour blending was as on the sample pieces.

The colour sequence for the 4th piece was blue-purple-magenta-red-orange-green (colour circle) and was repeated 6 times.

The colour sequence for the 5th piece was green-blue-purple-magenta-red-orange-red-magenta-purple-blue (colour wave) and was repeated 3.5 times (ending on orange of the 4th repeat).

Once the weaving was finished, the completed fabric was then cut from the loom and the pieces separated.
