I cut the fabric of pieces 4-14 and warp end bookmarks from the loom and washed them on a normal, warm, machine-wash cycle. Once washed, I cut the pieces apart, trimmed loose ends and fringes, pressed them with a hot iron and left them to dry.
Now I have to sew the fabric into headbands – this involves gathering the ends, sewing elastic to the ends and covering the elastic with black fabric. I’m not sure when this will happen, but I’ll make a blog entry when I have made these.

Notes:
1) Red-blue-red pieces (6th & 7th) are closer to 20epi than Blue-red-blue pieces (4th & 5th) which were beaten more firmly. The 6th & 7th are much softer and drapier.
2) DMC metallic yarns don’t shrink, so they stick out past the selvedges when the rest of the fabric shrinks. They also cause “bulges” in the fabric. The Dazzle threads also cause a bulge.
