For this piece, the 13th, I did a three-coloured piece with the Huck lace Warp float and Weft float patterns.
I had noticed that the Warp float/Weft float change over has warp float on one set of 5 threads and weft float on the same set of 5 threads. I wanted to get these change over areas of warp float and weft float pattern on different sets of 5 threads – so I wove it as shown below. I like the effect that I have ended up with in this piece.
After weaving the 10 rows of tabby white and 6 rows of tabby cream, I wove the following patterns:
Warp float (starting 13 row, ending with 24 row) – 2 repetitions of dark blue
Tabby row (13 row)
Weft float (starting 24 row, ending with 13 row) – 2 repetitions of dark blue
Tabby row (24 row)
Warp float (starting 13 row, ending with 24 row) – 2 repetitions of green
Tabby row (13 row)
Weft float (starting 24 row, ending with 13 row) – 2 repetitions of green
Tabby row (24 row)
Warp float (starting 13 row, ending with 24 row) – 2 repetitions of light blue
Tabby row (13 row)
Weft float (starting 24 row, ending with 13 row) – 2 repetitions of light blue
Finally, I wove 6 rows of cream and 10 rows of white to finish this piece.
