Warp 54 – Rayon fan reed scarves – Notes on the fabric

The fabric from this warp has SO much iridescence, this is particularly noticeable in the piece with the green weft – this piece is quite dramatic. The drape of both pieces is lovely. My friend is thrilled with it. The blue weft yarn is slightly rougher than the green, this gives the finished fabric a slightly harder feel.

I also found that the view through this fabric when it is held up to a window is quite amazing. In this view you can see the tracking that remains in the fabric from having three warp ends per reed slot. This is more pronounced in the piece with the green weft – it looks like flames in the fabric (when held vertically).
