I decided to weave this piece with tie-up #1 and TAW treadling including the colours sequence.

I began by weaving 2 picks of opposites (treadles 1 & 8) and hemstitching in fog. I then wove:
X treadles with fog yarn until the fog warp box was squared
Y treadles with black yarn until the black warp box was squared
XY treadles with white yarn until the white warp box was squared
X treadles with black yarn until the black warp box was squared
Y treadles with fog yarn until the fog warp box was squared
I ended by weaving 2 picks of opposites and hemstitching in fog.

I checked the ppi using a square piece of paper folded into a triangle to a 45° angle. I found that I have been beating too hard. This is probably because the beater is much heavier than that of the old loom. I’ll pay more attention to the ppi on the 4th piece.
