Two small bags

I took the warp ends from warps 19 & 20 and the straps from warps 22 & 23 and made them into two small shoulder bags.

Warp 19 (yellow fabric with peacock border) was paired with the mainly peacock strap from Warp 24; Warp 20 (peacock fabric with yellow border) was paired with the mainly yellow strap from Warp 23.

The steps involved were:
1) Cut fabric for the lining (cream cotton/silk blend)
2) Prepare the lining – fold and pin the edges of the lining so that I can sew a hem, press these edges, removed the pins, place the lining onto the fabric with the folds against the woven fabric, sew around the four sides to attach the lining to the woven fabric.
3) Sew the label onto the centre back of the bag
4) Sew the straps onto the back of the bag – fold, sew and trim one end of the strap; pin to the bag below the fold line of the closing flap; measure 120cm of strap; fold, sew and trim the second end; pin to the bag; sew the ends of the strap onto the bag using two rows of stitching.
5) Fold the bag and sew down the two sides to form the bag.
