I wanted to weave more of the Wall of Troy treadling pattern (1234321234) and a linear gradient but with the opposite colour scheme to that in the 4th and 5th pieces. I also wanted to weave these pieces with a lighter beat – I think that the 4th and 5th pieces were beaten too hard for 20ppi. However, I wanted to have about the same length of fabric as the 5th piece (43cm with tension off), so I removed green glow from the gradient and wove fewer repetitions of the first and last colour.
The colours were woven chilli pepper (red), celosia orange, freesia (yellow), cedar green, dazzling blue, scuba blue, dazzling blue, cedar green, freesia, celosia orange, chilli pepper.
I hemstitched on 2 rows of tabby with chilli pepper and wove 3 repetitions of solid chilli pepper before beginning the linear gradient. At the end, I wove 3 repetitions of chilli pepper and hemstitched on 2 rows of tabby chilli pepper. The linear gradient was woven as
A:1B
3A:1B
2A:1B
1A:2B
1A:3B
1A:B
The 6th piece measured measured 48cm with the tension off and the 7th 44cm.
