The final village we visited in Srinagar, Kashmir made hand-knotted and woven carpets. Apparently this is a dying art and is being kept alive in only a few villages. The carpets that are created are mainly wool on wool warp, silk on cotton warp and silk on silk warp. The silk on silk warp carpets are absolutely beautiful with a deep, soft pile.
