Warp 52 – “Sunrise” scarf and warp end pattern sample finished

All fabric was cut from the loom and the scarf and pattern sample cut apart.
The pieces were wet-finished by washing by hand in cold water with Unicorn Beyond Fibrewash. Loose ends were trimmed and the pieces pressed on a silk setting. They were then laid flat to dry. Once dry, they were crumpled by hand and whacked against the table to further soften the fabric. Fringes were trimmed with a rotary cutter. I used a fine crochet hook to tuck supplementary weft ends under floats of yarn.

I am incredibly happy with these pieces.
The scarf is gorgeous – the colours are stunning, the black patches in the centre of the undulations have a pleasing 3D bubble effect. The variation of colour in each warp stripe is very pleasing – the intense warp colour vs the more black central areas.
The pattern sample was very effective. Some of the patterns are very successful and I would weave them again – patterns 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17 and 20 from the those based on the Laotian patterns of the previous post.
