Once I had finished the weaving or the 4th piece, I cut the fabric from the loom. The pieces were cut apart and washed in the machine on a warm water/normal cycle before having the loose ends trimmed and being pressed with a hot iron and left to dry. Once dry, I trimmed the fringes and sewed labels onto the pieces.

The 2nd and 3rd pieces measure 167cm x 48cm. The 4th measures 49.5cm x 27cm.

I’m really pleased with these – the coloured weft stripes really change enliven the black and white starkness of the pattern squares.
