Once I had finished hemstitching the final piece, I cut the fabric from the loom.
The pieces were then cut apart and fringes trimmed.
I washed the 2 scarves by hand in cold water with a mild laundry detergent and rinsed until the water was mostly clear of excess dye. Loose ends were then trimmed, the pieces pressed with an iron on silk setting and they were hung to dry. Once dry, they were labelled and photographed.
The beads, while amazing and adding texture and “sparkle”, don’t really stay in place – the fabric “squeezes” them to one side of the fabric.
