Warp 33 – 3rd piece (2nd scarf) woven

I designed the 2nd scarf in WeaveIt. I hemstitched in green and wove a coloured stripe with a W treadling (see diagram below). Next I wove a single star sequence (treadling = threading TAW) in yellow, then another green stripe, followed by a double orange star etc until I had ~175cm. This meant 7 sets of pattern and ending with a green/yellow/green section. I ended with hemstitching in green.

I want to finish these pieces before weaving the warp end, so I wove 8 picks using 5/2 cotton, inserted a stick in an open shed and wove another 8 picks in 5/2 cotton. I then applied a flour & water paste to the 5/2 cotton areas and allowed this to dry. Once dried, I was able to cut the fabric from the loom.

I calculated that I have approximately 28ppi (an orange band is 156 picks and 14cm/5.5 inches).
