Warp 29 – 1st piece completed

I wove 4 picks of Fog on opposite treadles and hemstitched in Fog. I then wove each tie-up in succession from #1 through to #12 using
2 repetitions (8 picks) of Black – X treadling
4 repetitions (16 picks) of Fog – Y treadling
4 repetitions (16 picks) of White – X treadling
2 repetitions (16 picks) of Black – Y treadling
At the end, I wove 2 picks of Fog on opposite treadles and hemstitched in Fog.

I made a mistake in tie-up 7 – in the Y-treadles, I tied up shaft 3 instead of shaft 2. It is clear which section of the cloth this is as there is a long float on the back in the Y-treadling area.
I didn’t weave the section labelled “Towel 11 – Treadle broken” in tie-up 12.

After the weaving was completed, I cut the fabric from the loom, washed it in the machine with warm water on a normal cycle, trimmed the ends, pressed it with a hot iron and left it to dry.

Before washing the fabric measured 58x25cm, after washing it had shrunk to 55.5x23cm.
I’m quite pleased with this fabric. The patterns are beautiful, the drape is lovely and the selvedges are pretty good!
