I decided that the next piece would be woven with all of the greens that are about the same size as 10/2 cotton and a 4 point twill treadling with a 212343 pattern repeat because I prefer the coloured stripes formed with this repeat to those with the 123432 repeat.
I ended up weaving the colours as follows:
Cedar green 10/2 – 13 repetitions
DMC No8 perle 699 – 2 repetitions
DMC No8 perle 701 – 2 repetitions
DMC No8 perle 906 – 2 repetitions
Green rayon – 1 repetition
Green glow 10/2 – 2 repetitions
Then the colours in reverse from Green rayon back out to
Cedar green 10/2 – 4 repetitions
Repeat twice, end with 13 repetitions of Cedar green 10/2 cotton.
On loom, with tension off, the fabric measures 48cm.
The knots where I joined the two halves of the warp reached the heddles as I was on the last repeat of DMC No8 perle 699. The knots were at the back of the reed when I finished the fabric. Before starting the 10th piece, I wound the warp on so that the knots were in the area between the 9th and 10th pieces.
