I wanted to weave more of the Wall of Troy treadling pattern (1234321234) and a linear gradient.
The colours were woven scuba blue, dazzling blue, cedar green, green glow, freesia (yellow), celosia orange, chilli pepper (red), celosia orange, freesia, green glow, cedar green, dazzling blue, scuba blue.
I hemstitched on 2 rows of tabby with scuba blue and wove 5 repetitions of solid scuba blue before beginning the linear gradient. At the end, I wove 5 repetitions of scuba blue and hemstitched on 2 rows of tabby scuba blue. The linear gradient was woven as
A:1B
3A:1B
2A:1B
1A:2B
1A:3B
1A:B
This piece, the 4th, measured 34cm with the tension off.
For the 5th piece, I decided to weave the same but with 10 repetitions of pattern in the solid scuba blue portions. This piece measured 43cm with the tension off. There was a knot in the black warp, I repaired this under tension of the loom by weaving approx. 3cm past the knot and needle weaving in a replacement section of black yarn.
5th piece (tension off) with repair threads visible
