I thought more about the snowflake cushion covers and decided to keep playing with ideas.
I decided that I wanted to make the pattern a little smaller, put a border around the whole pattern and, finally, to divided the pattern into blocks.
Size – ~45cm square when finished
Warp – 8/4 cotton, Black, Red & Green
Weft – 8/4 cotton, Red, Green, Orange & Purple
Warp length – 2m (2 cushions + sample)
No of ends – 307 (305 + floating selvedges)
Epi & ppi – 15
On loom width – 52cm
Reed – 10dpi, sleyed 1,2 ends per dent
Structure – 2/2 twill

Modification of Laura Fry’s 4-shaft Canadian snowflake (see diagram below); with floating selvedges.

When beginning and ending each cover, I will weave approx. 2cm with 16/2 creme so that this can be folded under as a hem.
I modified the pattern from yesterday in WeaveIT, exported the .wif file, uploaded it to the colour editor at handweaving.net and played with the colours and striping possibilities.
