I was reading an issue of Väv magazine and saw an ad for coloured Texsolv heddles. I decided that I had to get some! They will make it SO easy to tell which shaft I’m threading on to.
I have rearranged the heddles on my loom (not as easy as it sounds!) so that I now have 250 heddles per shaft with coloured heddles on every second shaft:
| Shaft | Heddles |
| 8 | 250 white |
| 7 | 25 white, 200 orange, 25 white |
| 6 | 250 white |
| 5 | 25 white, 200 green, 25 white |
| 4 | 250 white |
| 3 | 25 white, 200 yellow, 25 white |
| 2 | 250 white |
| 1 | 25 white, 200 blue, 25 white |
The 799 heddles that I removed are tied (with 4 ties) in bundles of 50 and put away in a bag for the day that I need more white heddles.
