I started the sample by hemstitching with the weft yarn on 2 picks of plain weave (in this case, shafts 1,3,5,7 & 2,4,6,8).
I then wove 1.25 pattern repeats.
A single repeat measured 17cm.
The sample was finished by hemstitching on a further 2 picks of plain weave.
A 2-stick header was woven with waste yarn and the sample cut from the loom.
The fabric was wet finished (hand wash in warm water with a tiny amount of Unicorn Beyond Fibre Wash, rinse thoroughly in warm water, hot press on silk setting and lie flat to dry).
The fabric is gorgeous – a subtle pattern, wonderful sheen and iridescence, amazing drape and hand. The change in texture within a pattern block is intriguing.
