I retied the warp to the front apron rod, wove the header rows and began weaving the bookmarks. I stopped when it was difficult together a good shed – this gave me a total of 24 bookmarks. These were a pain to weave as hemstitching was such a large part of the time spent on each one.
Once the weaving was completed, the fabric was cut from the loom, washed in the machine on a warm wash, normal cycle, loose ends trimmed, the pieces cut apart and each one pressed with a hot iron before being laid flat to dry.
The finished pieces measure about 4.5cm between hemstitched edges.
