For the warp end, I decided to use the white star and coloured stripes of point twill. I hemstitched in green and wove a green stripe using point twill (treadles 1-8-1) followed by a yellow stripe of extended point twill (treadles 1-8, 1-8-1, 8-1) I used the 1 treadle in both colours to create a thicker yarn effect. Next I wove 2 star sequences (treadling = threading TAW) in natural. This was my basic pattern sequence and it was repeated until I reached the end of the warp. The second repetition of the basic pattern used 2 star sequences in orange. After the final white stars, I wove the coloured stripes to end, however, I used orange instead of yellow.
I calculated that I have approximately 28ppi (the natural band is 156 picks and 14cm/5.5 inches).
