I removed the lease sticks and tied the warp onto the front apron rod using 3 slots of ends for each half of the knot (12 ends per knot). I tied a surgeon’s knot, tensioned and tied the 2nd half of the knot to prevent slippage.
Once everything was tied on and tensioned, I checked for threading errors by raising the shafts. Individual shafts raised a thread every 2nd dent of the reed. Raising pairs of shafts (1&3 or 2&4) raised a thread every dent of the reed.
I also looked sideways through the shed created by each shaft raising to check that it was clear ie no crossed threads.
The next step was to weave header rows to spread the warp evenly.
