For this piece, the 22nd, I used green, purple, dark blue & red and the Warp & weft float Huck lace pattern.
After weaving the 10 rows of tabby white and 6 rows of tabby cream, I wove the following patterns:
Warp & weft float – 3 repetitions of green
Warp & weft float – 3 repetitions of purple
Warp & weft float – 3 repetitions of blue
Warp & weft float – 3 repetitions of red
Finally, I wove 6 rows of cream and 10 rows of white to finish this piece.
I decided to experiment with more gentle beating on this piece, you can see the difference between the first two pattern lines on the green (more tightly beaten) and all of the other pattern lines (more gently beaten). You can also see a needle providing tension to a broken warp thread – there was a flaw in this warp thread which caused the thread to break. I have repaired this using the method shown by Jane Stafford in her excellent series of videos at https://janestaffordtextiles.com/online-guild/.
